STAY IN YOUR LANE!

The #1 unwritten rule of these mountains is STAY IN YOUR LANE! We use the following phrase to help make it stick in your head, “keep it between the mustard and the mayo”. Crossing into the opposite lane is how people get hurt, as so many of these curves are blind and you have no idea what is coming around the other side.

With photographers posted along the Tail of the Dragon, if you are driving recklessly, you will be caught on camera and used as an example. These drivers were made internet famous the wrong way, by being posted as “Dragon Idiots” on Facebook. Being posted on the Killboy.com Facebook page with over 50k followers and the Tail of the Dragon Facebook page with 130k followers, they definitely got some unwanted attention!

Thankfully, these drivers were not part of our group.

DO NOT DRIVE ABOVE YOUR ABILITY!

Driving above your ability is what leads to crossing into the opposite lane or having an accident. There are a hundred pull-offs on the Tail of the Dragon and throughout our drives, so please use them if needed. Our drive groups are split up and selected based on the type of drive you are comfortable with your driving ability. Our main priority is safety and we we want to place you in a proper drive group.
