June 2019

Our Saturday started with our Driver’s Meeting after brunch at the Fontana Village Resort, where we discussed the event and itinerary. We then staged for our day’s drive that would total over 5.5 hours and about 240 miles. We left Fontana and drove the Hellbender to the gorgeous Cherohala Skyway, came back through some Tennessee country roads and up through the legendary Tail of the Dragon. We made it through some fantastic North Carolina roads and ended over four hours of driving to arrive at the Appalachian Driving Experience for our Saturday block party! After fun, food, and friends, we made the hour drive back to the Fontana Village Resort to conclude our day.

After brunch on Sunday, we staged for our next drive at our venue, the Fontana Village Resort. We had a three hour drive hustling through parts of the Moonshiner 28, and back through Wayah Gap, with a stop for a photo shoot at the Western Carolina Regional Airport. Then we drove back up US-129, where we had a catered meal waiting amazing Tapoco Lodge and Tavern.
